What's Up, Doc?

Yesterday, I headed to the doctor for my first physical in 4 years. Bad, I know.  I will not make that mistake again.  Besides just getting a regular physical I had to get a couple of innoculations in order to travel to Ecuador in July.  Ugh.  I'm not one to be scared of shots, but these were terrible.  I am so sore and feel like crud today.  Not what I was hoping for.  I am just saying a little prayer that when I wake up tomorrow I feel better. 

Today I got to see my little buddy, Max.  He is so darn cute and I love hanging out with him and his mommy, one of my oldest and dearest friends Aimee.  In the car on the way to lunch he kept waving at me and reaching out.  So, of course I couldn't resist letting him grab my hand and snatching a quick pic!  Love those little baby fingers!

Oops!

Well, looks like I took a break for a couple of days.  I spent Memorial Day walking in a parade in the morning and recovering from the heat in the afternoon.  Today I pretty much just lounged around the house.  I'll post tomorrow for sure!

In the meantime, watch this super cute proposal video.  Makes me tear up every time I watch it.  Which has been a lot.  And I feel bad for any guy planning to propose any time soon.  This guy totally set the bar unbelievably high!

Family

I know a lot of people don't like spending time with their family, but I am not one of them.  Yesterday, my parents and I drove two hours north to celebrate my cousin's high school graduation (a different cousin from the one we celebrated last weekend!).  It was great to see my uncles and aunts and a few of my cousins.  We had a great time visiting with everyone!  The only thing I didn't like was the drive each way.  I get very restless in cars, especially because I don't sleep well in them and reading makes me car sick.

Lazy

It is amazing how quickly I go from getting up every morning and working all day to sloth mode.  Seriously.  School got out on Tuesday and I've already slipped into a routine that involves me not showering until at almost noon. At this rate, by the end of summer I'll be lucky if I even shower at all! 

Anyway, I have done a big fat nothing today other than take my dog for a couple of walks (during which I got annoyed by some guy walking two big dogs that he seemed to have little to no control over) and take my daily pictures.  Speaking of which, I took a few outside today.  I'm sure my neighbors and random passersby thought I was nuts but I thought I'd try it out.  It probably wouldn't have been weird had I not taken about 15 pictures to get ones I thought were decent enough to post here.  I'm working up the courage to move to a completely new location!

Shop Around

Sheesh, it is all sorts of windy around here today. And HOT. If it is already in the 90s, I'm scared of July. June 16th in Philly better be a nice balmy 75 degrees. (I know I'm crazy to even hope for that but let me hold on to my dream, ok?)

So, today was the first day I really felt like I was on summer break. I got up, did a few yoga stretches, lounged and read the rest of a book, and then headed to Target. I know I've said this before but I'm convinced Target is the work of the devil. I don't think I've ever walked out without buying something. Today it was just food-curse you Target for now having food and yet another reason to buy something at you!! Came home and took a nap! I love you summer!

Busy Bee

The first day of summer has sure been a busy one!  I went to get my haircut (just a trim-I have bridesmaid hair to think about!!), had lunch with my fellow middle school librarians, a meeting about my upcoming trip to Ecuador, and a fitting for my bridesmaid dress!  Sheesh!  I drove around everywhere!

Also, my incredible friends, Amy and Jon, let me borrow their awesome camera for the summer so I should have some great pics!

Freedom

Today was the last day of school for this school year!! So happy to know I have the entire summer to do whatever I want! We had quite the celebration today with a taco bar, sombreros, and a piñata. To finish off the year we headed to a local bar afterward. I didn't get to stay too long but it was a fun way to see off some co-workers that won't be returning.

Casual Friday

I know it isn't Friday, but this what I wore on Friday. You see, tomorrow is our last day of the school year so it kind of feels Friday-ish to me. This year has both flown by and crept at a snail's pace. I'm super excited for summer to be here and get to do what I want!

High School

My cousin's daughter Mary graduated high school yesterday. First, I can hardly believe she's graduating high school already. Isn't she still supposed to be a little kid? Then, I realized I have been out of high school for 14 years. 14 YEARS!! That's a long time. Almost as many years as Mary has been alive. Ok, that was depressing... Moving on!!!

Anywho, today Mary and one of her friends had their graduation party. It was lovely and of course Mary's mom, Kim, made her famous (well, famous to me) cookies. I'm not telling how many of those suckers I ate. So, while I'm busy drowning in denial about my age and the ridiculous amount if cookies I just ate, enjoy today's photo which includes the beautiful, intelligent, sweet Mary!

Happy Place

I'm pretty sure that most of my friends/family know that my happy place is the mall. Throw in hanging out with friends and it's pretty much a perfect evening!

I met up with some of my favorite girls tonight for dinner to celebrate Jackie's birthday. We had a great time just catching up. I love spending time with them and wish I could do it more often!

Since the restaurant we ate at was right next to a mall, I just HAD to stop in before and after dinner for a look around. I believe my newest obsession is going to be the store Franchesca's Closet. So cute!

Boys and Girls

Today some of our students got to visit the local Boys and Girls Club center. We had a great time! Every game I played I stunk at but the kiddos didn't make me feel too bad!

After returning back to school, we had a school wide incentive which included a relay race battle between grade levels. It was hilarious watching them ride tricycles and do the wheelbarrow!

I'm so tired now! I am going to do a quick workout and head to bed good and early.

Since I wore my Friday outfit today (school shirt, jeans, and tennis shoes), there's no pic! Promise one tomorrow!

I managed to snag a pic tonight after praise choir practice. I actually had different pants on and slipped these on before heading back out. I'm pretty sure I've worn this before but oh well!

Tragedy

Unfortunately, I've been so busy at work that I haven't gotten any pics. Let's just say I haven't been much of a fashion plate since I'm doing inventory and spend half of the day scooting around on the floor scanning books.

Happy Mother's Day!

Happy Mother's Day to all of my readers that are moms! Hope you've all had a great day!

This has been a pretty crazy few days for me. Sorry for the lack of posts. My grandma's sister was in a horrific accident and passed away. So, these last few days have been spent with family.

I finally finished a huge task at work that I've been working on since Monday! Wahoo! Makes me feel good, but now I have to move on to an even bigger task! To make that bearable I'm reminding myself I only have 8.5 more work days left before summer!!!!

Getting back to work after a weekend of celebrating=not fun. I'm not quite recovered yet-I'm hoping by tomorrow I'll finally feel rested.

I pulled the dress I wore today out of my closet and thought, "I hope the two other people that have this dress don't wear it today." And wouldn't you know, the lovely Lauren of 912 ELM Tree wore hers! We both even accessorized with animal print shoes and black cardigans! Great minds really think alike. We couldn't resist taking a pic! This Shorty Mc Short Short is going to have to get hers shortened. I prefer the length it is on Lauren.

Full disclosure- this dress used to be VERY tight! Yay weight loss!

Wedding Bells

Yesterday was my best friend Alison's wedding. The entire weekend felt like a whirlwind, and I'm sure it was even more so for her, but here are a few pics I snapped.

Friday, before the rehearsal, I went with Alison, her mom, and one of our other best friends, Aimee, to get our nails done. It was a fun and relaxing experience. I think that besides the mall the nail place may be my happy place.

Soon after, we had the rehearsal. Since I was busy trying to pay attention to what I was supposed to do, there is no pic. However, I did manage to snag one of my best friends at the dinner. We've been friends since high school. I think we look just as good, if not better now!

Erin, the fourth in our A Team, stayed with me Friday night and we headed to the salon early Sunday morning! I'll spare you the getting ready pics except one of the bride getting glammed up. The stylists and makeup duo that got us all ready were top notch! We had a great time getting ready.

Here are close ups of my hair and make up. I had a pic of a hairstyle but it didn't quite turn out like I planned. Still cute though!

I LOVED my make up! I wanted my eyes to pop in pictures and, boy, did they! The false eyelashes made me feel so glam!

Here's a couple of full length pics so you can see my dress. I absolutely adore this JCrew dress! My only problem was it needed to be taken in slightly at the top (first time that's ever happened!) so I had to be careful that it didn't expose my bra. Other than that it was super comfy!

Once we got to the church, we inhaled some sandwiches and got ready. Some quick pics of the bride, bridesmaids, and brides family and we were back inside. It was extremely hot and humid so we cooled down before the ceremony. No pics of that, I was busy being a bridesmaid!

After the wedding we took more pics at the church and then headed out on the trolley. So fun-except no air conditioning! :( We managed to not melt while making a couple more stops for pics and then it was party time!

Catch Up

Sorry for the lack of posting the past couple of days. This week has kind of gone by in a haze, I've been so busy!

My dad called Tuesday and invited me to the Cardinals game with him that night. Needless to say, I went and had a great time! Here are a couple pics-one of the game and one of my dad and me. We ended up with a dozen loud New Yorkers surrounding us, an adorable little kid in front of us, and a Prince Harry doppelgänger across the stairway. The game itself was entertaining but the people just ramped up the entertainment level.

Yesterday, my best friend that's getting married, Alison, called and asked for help with some last minute details. So, I spent almost two hours folding and alphabetizing place cards. I'm exhausted!!

Here's the look from yesterday. It's not too close up because I didn't want you to see the giant bags under my eyes. And yes, I'm wearing polka dots and stripes at the same time. Why not?
