Monday, Monday

Ugh, Mondays.

It was a pretty quiet day at work so it made for a long day.

Saturday I had to run to a nearby mall and found one of my Friday Finds outfits. What do you think?

Here's today's gem:

Super Sunday

I had a great day! Church was so inspiring today. The message on our church sign was this: Patience is trusting in God's timing. So true. And something I work on everyday.

For our service we had a Singspiration Sunday. Several members of our church, mostly the youth, put their musical skills on display and they were fantastic!

Following that, I stopped for a visit with my grandma. She's so excited for my brother's wedding. So cute!

Here's the info on today's outfit:

Friday Finds

Today totally didn't go as planned. I had a kiddo in the library with me for most of the day and we played Guess Who? and checkers a lot. He was a good sport about losing. I even tried to lose on purpose but he totally didn't take the opportunities I gave him. Oh well, we had a good time.

Then we had a student vs. student basketball game this afternoon. Good times.

Here are some lovelies I'd like to add to my closet:

Both are these from the JCrew catalog.  If anyone wants to bankroll my wannabe JCrew addiction, please let me know!  I could seriously purchase every single piece of clothing!

Comfy

So, this week has been ddddrrraaagggggggiiinnnggg. I'm so happy tomorrow is Friday! Next week at this time, I'll be at the rehearsal dinner for Alison and Chris! So exciting!

Today, I wanted to be comfortable and warm. It's always freezing in the library. Enter my favorite, most comfy black pants. I like this outfit because it looks nice but feels almost like pajamas. Look out pajama jeans, you have some competition!

Details

I think what I like most about this look is the little details: the flower on the dress, the pop of pink with the belt, and my chevron Missoni flats. I guess I liked the dots and chevron combo so much I did it for a second day in a row. If I dress with that combo again tomorrow, I believe I have a problem! :)

Sunny Day

I love these blue pants. I originally wanted the brighter blue pair, and I still would love them, but there is just something so happy about this blue. Considering today's work day was a test of my patience, I'd say it was a good thing I wore them!

Since the pants were so light I decided to play with polka dots and chevron with them. I'm pretty happy with the overall look!

When I got home, Sophie and I took a walk to enjoy the weather. I hear it may rain this week so I wanted to get it in while I could!

Here's hoping tomorrow will be more pleasant and this week goes by quickly!

City of Brotherly Love

As I mentioned before, I was in Philly over the weekend to celebrate my future sister-in-law, Cara.

Friday night, my parents and I went to dinner with my brother at a lovely little restaurant named, Supper. They use local ingredients and it was really good. We then hung out at the hotel bar, where we got our pic taken. People keep commenting that my brother and I look alike which is funny to me since NO ONE has ever said that before. Must be the weight I've lost or the magic of Instagram.

Saturday was the shower. No pics from that but it was held at a fantastic Italian place, La Viola West. The waitstaff was great and the food incredible. Cara and Brad got lots of great stuff and it was fun to meet their friends.

Saturday was also the bachelorette party. I won't embarrass anyone by posting pics of that but it was a lot of fun! Alex, the maid of honor, did a great job planning! We had a Mojito making class, dinner at Cuba Libre, and drinks/dancing at L'Etage. I especially liked the people watching. Funny how the song that evoked the most singing and dancing was Whitney Houston's I Wanna Dance With Somebody.

Friday and Saturday I walked around the city a bit and shopped. I purchased a dress you'll hopefully see soon!

Sunday was dreary and rainy. I guess appropriate since we had to leave town.

I'm so excited for the wedding this summer!!

Checking in

Sorry for no post yesterday! I was busy busy busy! I don't have any great post lined up, but I'm pretty sure tomorrow there will be a lot of pics! Here is one for now. It is of my brother and me. I think it's my new favorite of us!

Rawwwwwwrrrrr!

Good evening! I'm so exhausted-this has been a really long week! I'm so glad tomorrow is Friday and I'm not going to be at work! Sheesh, that's a lot of !!!!

The shoes I wore today were a clearance purchase from JC Penney. I think I got them for about $13! It was quite a steal and I think they are very versatile. P

Muted

Today I was so tired when I got home from work, I didn't even want go get out of my car. That's bad, right?

I'm busy packing away for the weekend...I am so not a light packer. I hate having to decide what to take because I'm more of a last second decision maker. I usually pack and unpack and pack again at least 4 times. And still end up with extra stuff. It's just how I roll.

Today's outfit is very muted. No pops of color but I still like it!

Clothes of Dixie

To say I'm obsessed with the WB show Hart of Dixie would be an understatement.  Now, most of my friends/family probably don't know this because while I LOVE the show, I'm slightly embarrassed by my love for it.  I mean, it's not going to win any awards, but I have a soft spot for Summer Roberts Rachel Bilson.  It's cheesy and not necessarily great acting, but it's fun.  And the fashion is to die for.
See, not just great clothes but the guys are hot too!

Seriously, the wardrobe budget for this show must be huge.

(See what I mean?)

The premise of the show is that Dr. Zoe Hart has come to Bluebell, Alabama to work in a medical practice.  The people of Bluebell are kind of like the loveable crazies of Stars Hollow (you know, the fictional town in another one of my favorites, Gilmore Girls) and of course Zoe doesn't fit in.

So, here is this doctor from New York, with an amazing designer NY wardrobe, entering in a time warp little town named Bluebell.  Definitely doesn't fit in.

Now, I love Zoe's wardrobe but the one that I really love is Lemon Breeland's.  Lemon is the epitome of a southern belle.  And she dresses like she's from another decade.  And. I. Love. It.  I want her wardrobe so bad I can't stand it.  So classy but with a modern edge.  Every once in a while she has some really wackado outfit on but in general, I love the old classic style.

So, if you haven't checked it out-do it!

PS-I didn't post my pic today.  Not really feeling the outfit.  Maybe I'll feel better about it tomorrow and you can see it then.

PPS-I'm sorry if this post doesn't make a lot of sense.  I'm still at work and will be for almost another hour and a half.  Parent Teacher Conferences.  yay.

Bun Head

I think I've finally mastered the sock bun! Or at least I think I've come as close to mastering it as I can. Here it is in all of its glory:

In other news, the book fair started today at school. While I love that the kids get to buy books, it is so not fun for me to run it all by myself. And, tomorrow and Thursday we have parent/teacher conferences until 7:30. I'm so happy that Friday I get to skip school and head to Philly!

Here's my look for today:

Owe you one!

Sorry for the lack of post yesterday! I just got busy and didn't have the chance. Hope you enjoyed FF this week! I actually ended up scoring the last pair of mint green jeans at Kohl's yesterday! Wahoo!

So, Friday night my aunt and uncle came into town so I wore this little outfit to dinner with them and my parents.

Saturday we all went to Kohl's and to see The Hunger Games! So, I wore this! We ended up heading back to my parents' house for dinner that night. I enjoyed spending time with the family!

Today, I went shopping with my mon and we found her some new shoes as well as a great purple dress for Brad and Cara ( my brother and future sister-in-law)'s rehearsal dinner. She was thrilled! Can't wait for June 16th!

PS-I kind of figured out the sock bun.  Still a long way from easy and today when I tried for a third time I ended up just bobby pinning most of the hair underneath the sock.  I'm bound and determined to master it!  This was a pic I took Friday night when I finally got it to look like an actual bun!

Friday Finds

Before I start with my Friday Finds for today, I have to tell you all I finally tried the famous sock bun.  And it was an epic fail.  I'm not sure what I did incorrectly, but I did something wrong.  Perhaps I don't have enough hair to cover the sock.  Or the sock is too thick.  It looked terrible.  I will continue to try and when I finally have a sock bun worthy of a picture, you will all see it and rejoice in the glory of the sock bun!  Or something like that.

Here are some things I'm truly loving lately:

I'm obsessed with colored pants right now.  Bright colors or pastels, specifically in mint green.
Mint Green Cropped Pants from ASOS

Bright colors are so big for spring/summer so I want to continue that trend with a Bright Pink Blazer from Frenchi via Nordstrom (I also love the electric blue one!)

I've seen these tulip midi skirts everywhere on blogs and style sites lately.  I like the color of this Dee & Ray Jersey Tulip Skirt

I've been searching for the perfect chambray shirt for the summer...this Keeper Chambray Shirt from JCrew just may be the one!

Happy Friday!

Switzerland

No, I'm not taking a trip. I'm wearing mostly neutral colors today. Get it? neutrals? Switzerland?.... Ok, so bad joke, but after day 2 of state testing that is all I've got. I like the look of this because it looks modern, yet classic I really wish I had this shirt in every color of the rainbow. I love it. So versatile. Hmmm...I'm thinking a trip to Old Navy is in my future!
Happy Thursday!

Just Dotty

Today's hair and location leave a little to be desired. This was taken at the end of the day, see wrinkled again, in my office. My office looks like quite the pit, doesn't it? So glad I took my hurried pic in there! I'm blaming it on MAP testing. That's the standardized test our students are taking this week. It's leaving everyone a little frazzled.

I'm thinking I definitely should take my photos in the morning. I wish I had someone that could take my photo before I leave my house in the morning. Anyone wanna volunteer to drive to my house at 6:45 in the morning to take pictures of me? No?! Oh well, guess this is what you get for now!

Not Trying Hard Enough

So, after a four day weekend, this morning was a rude awakening. I just didn't want to get up, hence the outfit for today was definitely lacking. This is what happens, you guys, when you put very little thought into what you put on. Promise tomorrow will be better!!

Happy birthday to me and birth day to Baby T!

Today is my 32nd birthday. I'm pretty sure when I was 12, I had no idea that this is what life at 32 would look like. However, I've had the best day and am looking forward to an exciting 32nd year of life! I've got two weddings to be in, an incredible trip to Ecuador planned, and who knows what else is in store!

The best part of my day was getting to visit my best friend Joi and her awesome husband Dave at the hospital. Now, usually visiting the hospital isn't a good thing but in this case it is- they welcomed their first child into the world last night! That's right, baby Theron finally made his appearance! Because I had the day off, I got to go hang out with them.

And, since I was so close to the mall, it would have been wrong to not stop in. I didn't purchase anything for myself but got some books for the library. Hope the kids like them because I lugged those heavy suckers around half of the mall!
(why yes, that is a pic of me in the bathroom at the mall...i wasn't sure that i'd get a full length pic and now you get to see my adorable handbag by Jason Wu for Target!)
To end my great day, I headed to my parents' house for dinner. They very nicely cooked for me and everything was yummy!
(Sophie, my dog, wanted to make a guest appearance in this picture.  Unfortunately, she doesn't like to look at the camera when people take pictures.)
Wish I could have a day like this every day!

Zoo Baby

Today I got to hang out with one of my favorite tiny people, Max. My BFF Aimee invited my other BFF Alison and I to meet her (and Max, her husband, and sister-in-law) at the Zoo! Of course we said yes and met them late in the afternoon. My only complaint is that we didn't get to see the gorillas. They are my favorite animal and it seems the last several times I've been there the gorillas are hiding from me. It's like they know I'm there and want to see them, so they hide! So annoying!! This pic with Max is the closest I got to gorilla today. :(

Friday Finds

Since most Fridays I will be in the same thing (it is jeans day at work and we are supposed to wear our school's spirit wear if we wear jeans-not exactly fashionable), I thought I would do a Friday Finds blog entry each Friday.  So, here are some things I am loving right now!
Big-shot dot circle skirt from JCrew

Tropical Floral Skirt from Loft -I love this sweater too!

Ughhhh...stupid websites are being really difficult tonight.  I guess next week I'll have a lot more to show off but I'm tired of fighting the computer right now!

Dance Break

Sorry for the lack of post yesterday. I just didn't have time to get it together. We had a busy day at school, went for a walk with my BFF Alison who is in town, and then had a meeting. At work we had a pep assembly for the state standardized test/dance for our kiddos. That's the backdrop for yesterday's photo. I think it's funny that you really can only see teachers in the background and they all look so excited. NOT! We are off today and Easter Monday so I have a little break before the week of testing! Woohoo!

Go Cards!

I'm a little late in posting, but I've been doing a lot of running around today. I'm so excited that I just have to work tomorrow and then I get a 4 day weekend! Woohoo! In celebration of the Cardinals' opening day, we got to wear our Cards gear to work. That proved to be a little interesting in putting together a good look. So, it isn't very creative but I got to support the team!

Black and Blue

Today just seemed to crawl by. Since there was voting today, I got to spend the entire day listening to the election officials yammer. It made me really appreciate the quietness of the library. Also, I appreciated the air conditioning. The library is one of the few cool places in the building. I feel so bad for everyone else sweating away while I'm adding layers to keep warm. Hopefully the air will be turned on soon and then I can start wearing my winter clothes again.

The plus side of all of this is I'm getting a chance to catch up on some reading. Yay!

Here's today's ensemble:

Wake Up Call

Ever have one of those days? Somehow I managed to set the wrong alarm last night and woke up with an hour to walk my dog, shower, and be ready for work. Yikes! So, today was a little thrown together. I've worn the top half of the outfit before so this was pretty much a no brainer.

Just wanted everyone to know that I have changed the settings so now anyone can post comments to the blog entries!  Sorry I didn't do it sooner!  Don't forget to leave a comment, visit daily, and tell everyone you know to check it out!

Lazy Sunday

Happy Sunday! I'm really loving this beautiful weather we are having, although I'm a little nervous that this summer is going to be as hot as the surface of the sun! It's is currently about 84-what is July going to be like?!

Anyhoo, I was up bright and early for church and since I've been home my pup, Sophie, and I went for a walk. I'm thinking a nap may be in the cards too! I've got to gear up for the next four days so I can get to my 4 day holiday weekend!

Here's the skinny on today's look:
